Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Review

I received this cleanser in my swag bag from the Beautylish Beauty Social I attended in Santa Monica in October and I finally got around to trying it and I am very impressed with this product. I have been using this cleanser for a week and my skin looks very clear and radiant. I was surprised to read that it also takes off eye makeup and mascara so I gave it a try. First of all, it smells amazing with a hint of eucalyptus and has a thick creamy texture and it did take off my mascara and eye makeup very well. You apply it to your dry face and massage over the entire face, eye and neck area and then use the muslin cloth rinsed in hot water to polish and cleanse away any dirt, dead skin and makeup. I have never heard of this skincare line before but looked up their Web site at http://us.lizearle.com/ and saw that this cleanser has won several beauty awards and is the only cleanser Liz Earle makes since it is so amazing and suitable for all skin types. The starter kit that I received sells for $24.50 with the cleanser and two muslin cloths. I think this is a great deal for such an amazing cleanser and I will definitely be purchasing it in the future. I love that this cleanser gives me the feeling of a spa facial cleansing every time I use it and the muslin cloth works great at gently exfoliating my skin.

My Favorite Red Lip Colors for the Holidays

With the holidays rapidly approaching I keep thinking of the holiday parties I will be attending and what I will be wearing and of course what makeup looks to wear and the easiest way to look glamorous is to put on a strong and daring red lip. It just makes me feel so gorgeous and sexy to have smokin red lips. A nice bonus that it makes your teeth look super white too! So here are my favorite red lip colors that I keep going back to over and over again. The first one is my Stila Long Wear Liquid Lipcolor in "Fiery". This color is gorgeous and goes on silky smooth and dries to a strong matte finish. I sometimes feel it is a bit dry so I need to make sure my lips are in good condition before wearing this on a night out but this color does last and last and stays on through a long evening but needs to be reapplied in the center if eating or drinking often. One of my all-time favorite red lipsticks by MAC is "Russian Red". This color looks beautiful on every skin tone and is a truly beautiful red. This is also a matte but feels more creamy than the Stila lip color but of course does not last as long. Last but not least is my latest addition from NYX from their Black Label collection called "A Tribute to Marilyn" and it is indeed. I felt like the beauty herself when I wear this color. I really liked the texture of this lipstick and it has a very alluring fragrance that smells yummy. Some people are afraid of wearing reds because of the bleeding and staying power but I truly love these colors and after I apply them, go around the lip with concealer stick, concealer with a flat brush or nude liner to ensure the color stays where it should. So pull out your favorite red lipstick or lip color and rock it this holiday season!

The Best Acne Spot Remover

I have found what I consider the best acne spot remover ever!!!! A friend of mine turned me on to the Special Healing Powder by Mario Badescu. I remember first discovering this skin care line in the back of magazines and reading about celebrities using these products and previously had used the drying lotion which works great but is in a liquid form. This stuff is truly amazing. It is a sulfur based powder that helps reduce redness and oils and also is supposed to disinfect and heal blemishes and states that it is for all skin types. I had a few pimples on my chin and I put a bit of this powder on it using a q-tip and the next morning the pimple was flat and no longer red. WOW!!!! I also love that this comes in powder form and when applied to the skin does not show any color or look powdery. It blends right into the skin and works its magic. It is great for men too who don't want to wear concealer or pesky colored acne treatments. This product can also be mixed with loose powder to help control oil on the face. I love the fact that I can take this in my makeup kit on jobs in case anyone needs it or if I have any difficult acne on clients. A little goes a very long way and I picked mine up at Ulta for $12.

Coconut Oil As Eye Makeup Remover

I have found a new best friend. After having a really bad reaction to something and having a nasty rash on both eyelids that lasted for weeks, I finally had enough and did some research on natural makeup remover and stumbled upon coconut oil and its many uses and benefits. After recovering from my reaction and finally getting my nerve back to put something on my eyes, I did a strong smokey eye with heavy eyeliner and when I went to remove my makeup was truly amazed. Coconut oil comes in a solid form but turns to liquid immediately on contact with the skin. I use it to remove eye makeup by warming a small amount on the back of my hand and then gently apply it in circular motions to the eyelid. Once the makeup dissolves, I take a cotton pad and rinse it with clean warm water and wipe down from the eyebrow to the lashes and the makeup is removed. So easy and the eyes do not sting or burn. Coconut oil can be found in most health food stores. I got mine at whole foods for around $12. Just make sure it is unrefined or unprocessed (especially not heat processed) and organic.
