My Favorites for Valentine's Day

Just in time for Valentine's Day! A few of my  favorites that I Love, Love Love! I of course bought these for myself but all make amazing gifts for anyone or yourself and I just wanted to share what makes me feel hot this chilly time of year.

These Vince Camuto "Bollo" Over the Knee boots are so awesome they look great with skinny jeans, leggings, dresses and just about anything.  (Nordstrom $166.79 right now on sale Woo Hoo). I have been looking for the perfect brown boots for two years and finally found them.

Renegade Cluster Bracelet from Stella and Dot ($59 Comes in silver too)
This bracelet is super hot with celebrities right now such as Sofia Vergara, Katy Perry and Giuliana  Rancic. I love that it stretches so there is no hassle trying to clamp it on and it looks awesome layered with just about anything or a cuff. I get so many compliments when I wear this. It also has a tiny heart and a few  pave beads. Gorgeous.
This is the cute packaging my bracelet came in.

Even cuter when you open the box it says "Hello Gorgeous".
My friend is having a trunk show through Sunday January 27th, 2013 where purchases will  be entered into a raffle drawing for a chance to win hostess jewelry credits and 50% off jewelry items. You can get more information on the trunk show Facebook page at www.stelladot.com/ts/q8zm5

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in "Vintage" ($16). A truly gorgeous color on the lips. A deep wine color that makes your teeth look super white. A little goes a long way and lasts forever. These lip tars are a makeup artist's dream. They go on slick like a gloss and then dry down to a satin finish and the colors are amazing. I think they have about 40 now.  You will want to apply with a lip brush though since too much product can end up in a gloppy mess that bleeds. ( I got this one last year at the Makeup Show in L.A.)  I am obsessed with this company since everything is Vegan and Cruelty-Free. There brushes are amazing too. Will blog about this company soon!
Here is the swatch of Vintage OCC Lip Tar with my favorite Renegade Cluster bracelet from Stella and Dot.
Last but not least, Wine!!! After a long day battling my 3 1/2 year old, I like to hang with the hubby with a nice glass of wine! Cupcake Vineyards "Red Velvet"  wine is unbelievable. This wine has aromas of chocolate, blackberries and a creamy mocha  and a hint of coconut. Yumm. This wine warms my heart and the label makes me smile and is just pretty darned cute too. I got mine at Cost Plus for $6.99 with a World Market Explorer member discount but it often retails for around $10.99 a bottle.

Fast Eye Look Using Naked Cosmetics Pigments

As a mom of a very energetic 3 year old, I am finding it hard to do my makeup the way I would if I didn't have someone running off with my brushes and shadows so I thought it would be fun to do an eye look as fast as I could using two of my Naked Cosmetics pigments. These things are awesome and still have so many other colors to explore. I fell in love with these at the IMATS last year and bought both the Sierra Nevada Collection and the Ebony Collection. These pigments are made from the highest grade of Mica and contain no talc, oils, waxes or fillers which gives these babies a long shelf-life.

I used #01 from the Ebony Collection and #02 from the Sierra Nevada Collection. I used them dry for this tutorial since it was about speed but if used wet, the colors are incredible.

I first primed my lid with Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer. I then applied #02 from the Sierra Nevada Collection from the tear duct stopping halfway to the center of the eye over the pupil.  I like to use MAC's #239 brush for these pigments and I like to put the product in the cap so I can load my brush from there so I will get just enough product and not too much fallout plus it keeps from contaminating the pigments since I clean the lid after.
Using the same brush (MAC 239)  I applied Ebony #01 from the center of the eye out in a "V" formation and into the crease.

I added just a little highlight with MAC's Vanilla eye shadow using my Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Angled Blending Brush  to blend the edges. I then used my MAC 230 foundation brush with a little tinted moisturizer to clean up the fallout since this was such a quick look.

I lined the upper lid with MAC's Coffee making the line a little thicker on the outside and tapering in.

Added two coats of mascara to the upper lashes.

And mascara to bottom lashes.

Here it is...The finished look! Not bad for 10 minutes!

LUSH Sweet Lips Lip Scrub Review

I was so happy to hear that there was a Lush store that had recently opened in my local mall so I rushed in to get my bath bombs that my daughter is now addicted to (and has no idea how much it costs mama if she uses one a day). As I was checking out, I stumbled upon the impulse buy of the day: Lush's Sweet Lips. I figured with the cold winter months and with the darker lip colors I wear lately, this would be very handy to have around and for the price of $9.95, I thought I would give it a try.
I love how Lush's products are handmade (mine was made by Faeryll), have a "best if used by" date and only have the most natural ingredients. The ingredients are listed as "Castor Sugar, Organic Jojoba Oil, Vanilla Extract, Cocao Absolute, and Tagetes Oil (which is a Mexican Marigold essential oil)". The directions indicate that you take a bit of the product and scrub it on your lips until smooth. First of all, this stuff smells like chocolate and is oh so yummy if you end up tasting it, which you will if you use it. The consistency is a bit dry in my opinion which makes me waste a lot of product when applying. I end up getting lots of excess in the sink but it does leave my lips smooth and soft but I wish there was a bit more jojoba oil in it to give it more moisture. I do admit, when I am craving sweets, I do a quick scrub and it gives me my chocolate fix for the day. Overall, this product smells amazing if you like chocolate and gives you smooth lips that helps lip colors go on effortlessly.

Happy New Year!! Goals and Giveaways

Happy New Year!! May 2013 be the best one yet! Instead of resolutions, I have set some goals for myself. I am planning on doing some more photo shoots and working with some other talented beauty professionals to start my own makeup workshops for brides and aspiring makeup artists. Very exciting since this has been a dream of mine for a long time. I will also be setting up a giveaway when I reach 50 followers on my blog. I wish everyone a happy, healthy and inspiring New Year! Cheers!!
